Welcome to the official website of 19 year old Scottish Racing Driver, David Wagner. Here you will be able to find the latest news, results and pictures of David as he competes in the 2012 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship. You can also follow him on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
After a successful karting career, where he won Scottish and British Championships in Cadets, Junior TKM, and Junior Blue, David stepped up to race single seaters and entered the 2010 Formula Renault BARC Winter Series Championships. Despite a limited budget and no previous experience in a racing car, David scored four podiums out of six races, and took victory at the final race of the championship. Overall, he finished second and top rookie in the Formula Renault BARC Winter Series.
In 2011, David stepped up to the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship and finished in a career best fourth place at the final round of the championship, in front of 40,000 people and live on ITV4.
He is one of the most exciting racing prospects Scotland has had for many years and has been identified by the UK governing body of motor sport, The Motor Sports Association (MSA) as being a potentially elite competitor and therefore has been selected for the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE).
He is an ambassador for the Winning Scotland Foundation and a proud supporter of The Full Circle Foundation, a charity committed to helping disabled teenagers live a fuller life. He is currently studying Finance and Economics and is supported by the University of Strathclyde.
